Michigan Senate District 19
Serving the People of Barry, Calhoun & Ionia Counties
Dr. John Bizon, currently serving in the Michigan House of Representatives,
is running for the Michigan State Senate in District 19. This district encompasses Barry, Calhoun and Ionia counties in south-central Michigan. (See map.)
The total population of District 19 is approximately 259,000, according to the 2010 U.S. Census. About 23% of the population in District 19 lives in Barry County; 53% in Calhoun County; and 24% in Ionia County. Major urban areas in the district include (in alphabetical order): Albion, Belding Battle Creek, Hastings, Ionia Marshall, Hastings and Portland. Much of District 19 is rural with rich farmland and forests.
